Compassion Cultivation Training

With Anne Walter

8 Thursdays, 6:30 – 8:30pm

October 15 through December 3, 2019

CCT, an 8-week program that develops the qualities of compassion, empathy, and kindness, has come to Louisville!

Sign up for this unique process of expanding empathy and concern for others, developing your strength to be with suffering and take compassionate action, and building resilience to prevent compassion fatigue.

CCT was developed by Thupten Jinpa (principal English translator for His Holiness the Dalai Lama) at Stanford University with a team of contemplative scholars, clinical psychologists, and researchers.  During our 2-hour sessions, you will explore training your mind and developing skills in relating to yourself and others by intentionally choosing compassionate thoughts and actions.

With these skills, you will enhance your personal relationships in order to make a positive difference in the world. CCT supports your own health, happiness, and well-being. Research suggests that by increasing self-compassion CCT can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, and enhance connections with others.

Weekly sessions employ input and discussion, in-class exercises and daily meditation practices to develop loving-kindness, empathy, and compassion, as well as “real-world homework” assignments that nurture compassionate thoughts and actions.

Priced according to your ability: $150, $265, $370.  Those able to pay more make assistance available to those in need.  Some partial scholarships are available.

Enrollment limit for the class: 15 students.  Registration closes October 8 or when full.

CCT involves a daily guided meditation. A commitment to practice between meetings and attending all 8 sessions is strongly recommended.

Register here or at 502-614-5616.
