KIRTAN & PRANAYAMA MEDITATION RETREAT with Erik Dennes
Deepen your meditation practice through a day of intensive practice which will calm your body and mind through use of relaxation techniques, chanting, and pranayama (breath). You will learn about the different levels of distraction which occur as you meditate, and how to counter these levels of distraction with appropriate methods. You will calm your body and mind through repetitive singing of a Sanskrit mantra accompanied with tanpura (an Indian drone instrument used as a background for Indian classical music). You will learn and use, with guided practice, different pranayama (breathing techniques) which deeply relax the mind and stabilize the mental field. Silent meditation sessions will progress from shorter to longer as you learn to use the techniques to counter various levels of mental distraction.

Four 90-minute to 2-hour sessions with breaks. Simple lunch and dinner included. Sat, Dec 9, 9am – 8pm, $85 Fee; Early Bird $75 by Nov 24
