Meditation

Meditation is a practice of centering, of focusing and being present, with many forms and approaches.

The practice of meditation is central to the Buddhist path and has been refined over centuries of exploration and mind-training by great teachers and practitioners alike.

The people who attend DGCEC’s Community Meditation identify with diverse religious traditions. They comment that DGCEC’s weekly meditation opportunities enhance the way they experience their own religious tradition.

Meditation has many benefits: it helps with focus, concentration, relaxation, prayer and is fundamental to one's health. Regular practice lowers stress levels and mental imbalance.

The Wednesday Community Meditation begins and ends with chanted Tibetan Buddhist prayer – join in if you like – with two 15 to 25-minute periods of silent meditation between.

Everyone is welcome to attend this weekly session.

Every Wednesday 7:00pm – 8:00pm
